World of Warcraft Weapons Guide: Axe – Part 3
World of Warcraft, the world’s most subscribed game as 2011, has an addicting game play and is rendered in visually stunning colors and effects. Game players of World of Warcraft use weapons, armors, containers, trade goods, and other items in order to survive and increase their level. One of the most popular items in World of Warcraft are axes. These weapons act like swords for most of the time and almost have the same game mechanics staves and polearms. There are two varieties of axes: one-handed and two-handed. Here, we shall continue the tour of the details of some World of Warcraft axes.
Fiery War Axe
The Fiery War Axe belongs to the two-hand variety of axe weapons. This World of Warcraft weapon requires players to be in level 35 or higher for it to bind when it is equipped to the character. It is not a powerful weapon. In fact, with speed rating of 2.90 and damage inflicted to target rated to be from 93-141, it is easily categorized to be a weak weapon. However, it can give 40.3 damage per second to your target or hurl a fiery ball that would hurt your target from 155 to 197 Fire points. Furthermore, when you strike in the right timing, you can give your target additional 24 damage for more than 6 seconds.
This one-hand axe weapon variety binds to the characters of players in level 42 and higher when it is equipped. The Flurry Axe stands by its name and gives quite a puny effect to your target. With a speed rated 1.50, it can inflict 37-69 damage to your target which is equal to 35.3 damage per second. When the target is hit properly, you will have 1 extra attack on your next swing.
Gladiator’s Axe Cleaver
This weapon is only usable when you are in level 70 or higher. The Gladiator’s Axe Cleaver binds immediately after your character has picked it up and automatically improves your stamina by 21. Moreover, this weapon also increase your hit rating by 0.6%, your critical strike rating by 0.7%, your resilience rating by 0.3% and your attack power by 28. It has a speed rating of 2.60 and is said to give 189-285 damage to your target or 91.2 damage per second. It is a powerful axe weapon and should not be taken for granted.
Merciless Gladiator’s Decapitator
The Merciless Gladiator’s Decapitator belongs to the two-handed axe weapon type category. It binds immediately when picked up and requires players to attain the 70th level before they can pick it and use it. When lucky enough to find one, your character will be more powerful as it is one of the strongest and most useful axe weapons. Also, it increases your stamina by 55, your hit rating by 1.1%, your critical strike rating by 1.9%, your resilience rating by 0.8% and your attack power by 84. It also has a rated speed of 3.60 and can damage your opponents from 365-549 which is 126.9 damage per second inflicted to your target.
This off-hand axe weapon binds to the character when picked up. However, you should not expect so much from it as it is not quite as powerful as other menacing-looking axe weapons. It can only inflict 91.0 damage per second or 95-178 total damage and its speed is rated to be at 1.50. However, you can expect that your stamina will increase by 21, hit rating by 0.6%, critical strike rating by 0.7%, resilience rating by 0.3%, and attack power by as much as 28. Remember though that the required level is 70.
The Gorehowl is a two-hand axe weapon which is pretty capable, powerful and durable. It requires level 70 and higher for players to be able to use it when they pick it up. When it binds to the character, it improves its strength by 49, its agility by 43 and its stamina by 51. With speed rating of 3.60, it can bestow 345-518 total damage to your target – equivalent to an impressive 119.9 damage per second.
Grand Marshal’s Handaxe
The Grand Marshal’s Handaxe is a one-hand weapon that binds when picked up by at least level 60 players. In this event, the character’s stamina is improved by 7, its critical strike rating by 0.6% and its attack power by 28. It has a speed rating of 2.90 and can harm your target by 138-207 damage points which is similar to inflicting 59.5 damage per second. It is not as durable as the Gorehowl or neither the High Warlord’s Battle Axe nor it is as powerful as the Merciless Gladiator’s Decapitator but it is certainly a very good axe choice especially in lower levels.
Grand Marshal’s Sunderer
This two-hand axe weapon is built for level 60 players and higher. It binds to the character when it is picked up and when that happens, it automatically improves some of the characters attributes. The Grand Marshal’s Sunderer improves the critical strike rating by 0.6%, the strength by 26 and the stamina by 41. It has a speed rating of 3.80 which is not that remarkable but it can inflict an agonizing (for the target) 235-353 damage or 77.4 damage per second. Furthermore, the Grand Marshal’s Sunderer is a durable weapon as rated by many players.
Hatchet of Sundered Bone
The Hatchet of Sundered Bone is a one-hand axe weapon that binds to characters in level 60 or higher when it is picked up. This axe weapon has a speed rating of 2.60 and is stated to inflict 119-221 total damage or 65.4 damage per second to its target. It is not a very durable and powerful weapon but is good for average or not-so-difficult combats. However, it can increase the attack power y 36 and the critical strike rating by 0.6% when it is equipped to the character; thus making it still usable.
High Warlord’s Battle Axe
The High Warlord’s Battle Axe belongs to the two-hand variety of axe weapons. It binds immediately to players in level 60 or higher when it is picked up. When equipped to the character, it enhances its strength by 26, its stamina by 41, and its critical strike rating by 0.6%. The High Warlord’s Battle Axe does not look that powerful and menacing but do not be fooled by its looks. This weapon is rated to have 3.80 speed and can blow 235-353 damage (77.4 damage per second) to any target unlucky enough to receive its punishment. Surely, the High Warlord’s Battle Axe is a very good option to choose when coming into battles.
High Warlord’s Cleaver
This High Warlord’s Cleaver is made for level 60 players and higher. It is not a very durable weapon but it will do well for most combats you might get into. When picked up, it binds immediately to the character and when it is equipped, it will increase the character’s stamina by 7, critical strike rating by 0.6% and attack power by 28. The High Warlord’s Cleaver has 2.90 speed rating and can inflict 59.5 damage per second or 138-207 overall damage to its target.
Kang the Decapitator
Kang the Decapitator is quite a powerful two-hand axe weapon for level 44 players. It has a speed rating of 3.60 and can bestow 136-205 damage or 47.4 damage per second. Yes, those numbers are not impressive. Moreover, this axe weapon also does not bring any improvement to any skill of the character. However, when you strike correctly, it will wound the target for 30 seconds causing 560 damage. The bleeding time provided is enough to make you form a strike that is lethal.
Legacy belongs to the more powerful two-hand variety of axe weapons. It requires players to attain level 70 and it binds immediately when it is picked up. When it is equipped, this World of Warcraft axe weapon will improve the character’s agility by 40, its stamina by 46 and its attack power by 80. Furthermore, Legacy can restore 8 mana per 5 seconds of its use. It is capable of inflicting 114.0 damage per second or 319-479 total damage to your target. It has a speed rating of 3.50 which is not that impressive but average. Players use this weapon because of its special attributes and because of its durability; not to mention that it is also quite powerful.
The Lunar Crescent is often used as a recipe. This two-hand axe variety binds to the character of players in level 70 and higher. When equipped, the Lunar Crescent improves the critical strike rating by 2.1% and the attack power by 96. It is one of the more powerful and durable axe weapons in World of Warcraft having 3.70 speed rating and can inflict 324-487 damage (109.6 damage per second ) to its target. In addition to those, the Lunar Crescent looks visually appealing. Many players opt for this weapon when in average to semi-difficult combats in World of Warcraft.
