World of Warcraft Weapons Guide: Axe – Part 4
Axe weapons are popular and are often chosen over swords by many players of World of Warcraft. They are powerful and provide additional benefits to the characters that use them. However, only one sword can be used by each character so learning some technical details of the weapons that belong to this category will be useful. Here, we shall continue discussing and dissecting the remaining axe weapons in World of Warcraft. The weapons listed here are the remaining axes continued from the previous articles.
Wicked Edge of the Planes
The Wicked Edge of the Planes if an axe weapon that fits in your main hand. It binds immediately to the character that picks it up and automatically improves its critical strike rating by 1.0% and its attack power by 48. However, you have to be in level 70 and higher for you to use this. Compared to other main hand axe weapons, the Wicked Edge of the Planes is not so powerful and durable. What with its speed rating of 2.70 and damage inflicted to enemy between 184-343 or 97.6 damage per second. But still, the Wicked Edge of the Planes is good to use for most combats.
Warbringer is a one-hand axe weapon that binds to the characters of players in level 70 and beyond. When equipped to the character, it will improve its stamina by 12, its defense rating by 16 (6.8%) and its hit rating by 0.4%. Warbringer can inflict 102-190 damage to opponents or 81.1 damage per second with speed rating 1.80. The numbers are not that impressive and the Warbringer ranks quite low in the chart of the best axes. However, it is still useful and quite durable.
This two-hand axe weapon variety is built for players in the 58th level and beyond. It binds to the character that picks it up and when equipped, the Treant’s Bane improves the character’s stamina by 15, strength by 25 and critical strike rating by 1.8%. It is a durable weapon and is average in speed rating 3.40 in the speed category. Lastly, Treant’s Bane can inflict 161 to 243 damage to its target which is equivalent to 59.4 damage per second.
The name of this main hand axe weapon is quite scary and so is the actual performance of the axe. The Decapitator binds to the character immediately after being picked up and benefits the holder by increasing its critical strike rating by a good 1.2%. Level 70 players should use this weapon with 2.60 speed rating to induce 167-312 damage to target or 92.1 damage per second. In addition to those, hurling the The Decapitator will result in 513 to 567 induced damage to the unlucky victim.
The Brutalizer is not as brutal as its name nor is it as lethal as many axe weapons in World of Warcraft are. It is a one-hand axe weapon variety which binds to the character that picks it up. When it is equipped to a character, the Brutalizer will enhance the stamina by 33, defense rating by 22 and axe skill rating by 21. It is for use by players in level 70 and higher to induce 128-193 damage to opponents or 100.3 damage per second. It has a speed rating of 1.60 which is not that great but the weapon is great for most combats.
The Spinal Reaper binds to the characters of level 60 players and higher when it is picked up. This two-hand axe weapon is rated to have 3.40 speed rating and can do as much as 203-305 damage to its target or 74.7 damage per second. It is quite a durable weapon and it restores 150 mana or 20 rage every time you kill a target that gives you experience points. However, this good effect could not happen for more than 10 seconds. Lastly, the Spinal Reaper also improves the attack power by 34.
The Soul Cleaver is a two-hand axe weapon that has the capability of increasing strength by 65 and stamina by 63. This weapon has speed of 3.70 and can be used by level 70 players and higher. When equipped, all your attacks will ignore 315 of your opponent’s armor. It is a powerful weapon and can inflict 130.4 damage per second or 386-579 total damage to its target. In addition to its powerful attack power and character benefits, the Soul Cleaver is also one of the most durable weapons in World of Warcraft.
Singing Crystal Axe
The Singing Crystal Axe is a two-hand axe for level 70 players and higher that only binds to the character when it is equipped. It is one of the most powerful axes in World of Warcraft in terms of attack power and damage inflictions. The Singing Crystal Axe can induce 295-444 damage to the target or 105.6 damage per second. It has a speed rating of 3.50 and it is also one of the most durable axes in World of Warcraft. Furthermore, the Singing Crystal Axe can increase your haste rating by 400 or 38.0% for a good 10 seconds.
Sickle of Unyielding Strength
This is a one-hand axe weapon that binds to the characters when it is picked up and when equipped, it improves the character’s strength by 15, agility by 6 and stamina by 9. Aside from those, the Sickle of Unyielding Strength will also increase the character’s defense rating by 6. This weapon has a speed rating of 2.10 which is not an impressive number in itself but it is quite sufficient for level 60 players. The Sickle of Unyielding Strength can inflict 75-141 damage or 51.4 damage per second.
Severance is a two-hand axe weapon that increases the critical strike rating of characters by 1.3% when it is equipped to it. Additionally, it will increase the strength of characters by 43 and stamina by 18. For players in level 60 and higher, Severance can be used to bestow 81.8 damage per second to target or 235-354 total damage. This 3.60 speed rated weapon is a durable one and is good to use for most cases.
Scythe of the Unseen Path
Not as much as a powerful one-hand weapon, the Scythe of the Unseen Path could easily be switched to another weapon. But, it is good to know that this axe can restore 3 mana for 5 seconds and can increase a character’s attack power by 20 when equipped. Furthermore, it improves agility by 11 and stamina by 9. It has a speed rating of 2.40 and level 60 and higher players can use this to inflict 86-161 damage to opponents or 51.5 damage per second.
Rising Tide is a one-hand weapon that binds to the character when it is picked up. It improves the hit rating by 1.3%, attack power by 44 and stamina by 33. It is built for use by players in the 70th leve and higher. Rising Tide has 2.60 speed rating and can damage enemies from 208-313 or 100.2 damage per second.
Nightfall is a two-hand axe weapon for level 60 players. It is a very durable weapon and has an average speed rating of 3.50. Nightfall can inflict 187-282 total damage to your targets or 67.0 damage per second.
Neretzek, The Blood Drinker
As a two-hand axe, the Neretzek ranks in the middle of the horde. When it binds to the character (level 60 players only), it improves its stamina by 16 and strength by 21. Aside from inflicting 202-303 damage to your target (68.2 damage per second), you can also steal 141 to 163 life from your target. Plus, the Neretzek is a pretty durable axe.
The Mooncleaver is a recipe two-hand axe that can be used starting in level 70. When it is equipped, the character’s critical strike rating will improve by 2.4% and its attack power by 106. The Mooncleaver is rated to have 3.70 speed. Though that might not sound excellent, the Mooncleaver redeems itself by being able to inflict 351-527 damage to opponents or 118.6 damage per second.
Merciless Gladiator’s Hacker
The Merciless Gladiator’s Hacker is an off-hand weapon for level 70 players. It binds immediately when it is picked up and when equipped, it improves stamina by 27, hit rating by 0.6%, critical strike rating by 0.9%, resilience rating by 0.3% and attack power by 30. It is not a powerful axe given its 1.50 speed rating and 102-191 damage or 97.7 damage per second inflicted to opponents. However, given the added benefits that it brings, it still is one usable weapon.
Merciless Gladiator’s Cleaver
This one-hand axe binds to characters in level 70 when it is picked up. It has a speed rating of 2.60 and can give 177-330 damage to opponents or whopping 97.5 damage per second. Aside from those, it improves the stamina by 27, hit rating by 0.6%, critical strike rating by 0.9%, resilience rating by 0.3% and attack power by 30.
