World of Warcraft Weapons Guide: Crossbows – Part 7

Crossbows are quite notorious in World of Warcraft. They are popular not only because of their power which is undeniable powerful, but also because of their looks. Most of the crossbow sin World of Warcraft or WoW are mean looking, bulky, and some even look out of this world. So here we shall discuss some of the most powerful crossbows that have graced the game of World of Warcraft.

Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow

The Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow was added to the game in patch 2.1.0 but is no longer available to game players today. This is sad because this level 123 item is quite the looker (well, it depends but we like fiery winged weapons) and it also quite powerful. The Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow will bind to level 70 characters when it is picked up and will immediately increase the character’s stamina by 15. When equipped, the Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow will increase the critical strike rating of the character by 12 or 0.54%, resilience rating by 12 or 0.96%, and attack power by 26.  It has a recorded average speed rating of 3.10 and could induce 118.7 damage per second (294 – 442 Damage) to its target. The durability of the Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow is also at par with some of the most durable weapons in World of Warcraft. When it was still available in the game, it was sold by Kezzik the Striker for 9 Gold, 16 Silver, and 48 Bronze. Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow is the same model as Merciless Gladiator’s Crossboe of the Phoenix which is a level 136 item that requires level 70 characters.

Grand Marshal’s Heavy Crossbow

Grand Marshal’s Heavy Crossbow is an Alliance side WoW item that ranks with some of the most powerful weapons in the game. You must note that once you transfer to Horde, this item will be converted to High Warlord’s Heavy Crossbow. Grand Marshal’s Heavy Crossbow is a level 115 item that requires level 70 characters. It binds when it is picked up but will only bring an increase in the character’s stamina by 12 during this event. Once equipped, the character’s critical strike rating will be increased by 9 or 0.41%, resilience rating by 9 or 0.72%, and ranged attack power by 22. Aside from those, this WoW item also has powerful striking stats. Its speed averages at 3.20 and it can inflict 93.3 damage per second or from 238 to 359 total health damage to its victims. Clearly, the Grand Marshal’s Heavy Crossbow is one of the more powerful crossbows in World of Warcraft. It is sold for 6 Gold, 65 Silver, and 95 Bronze. This WoW item is the same model as Grand Marshal’s Repeater which is a level 78 weapon that requires level 60 characters.

Grand Marshal’s Repeater

This WoW item is sold by Lieutenant Jackspring at Stormwind City for 6 Gold, 8 Silver, and 97 Bronze. This level 78 WoW item is a bulky and bright weapon that packs quite a powerful punch. The Grand Marshal’s Repeater will bind to level 60 characters when it is picked up and will automatically increase the character’s stamina by 7. When equipped, this WoW item will increase the ranged attack power of the bound character by 36 points. Its speed is at 2.90 and it can induce 77.5 damage per second or from 179 to 270 total health damage. Durability wise, the Grand Marshal’s Repeater is also on par with some of World of Warcraft’s most durable weapons. The Grand Marshal’s Repeater will be converted to High Warlord’s Crossbow once you transfer to Horde. This WoW item is similar to these two models: Grand Marshal’s Repeater and Grand Marshal’s Heavy Crossbow.

High Warlord’s Crossbow

This refundable WoW item was added to the game realm via patch 1.11.1 and looks more like a chainsaw than a crossbow. It is on the Horde side and cannot transmogrify but it has one of the highest durability ratings in the game. The High Warlord’s Crossbow is a level 78 item that requires players to attain the 60th level or higher before it binds. When it is picked up, it will bind to the character and increase its stamina by 7 and when equipped, it will increase the ranged attack power of the character by 36. As you know, big and bulky looking weapons in World of Warcraft are quite powerful and the High Warlord’s Crossbow is not an exemption. Its speed ticks at 2.90 and it can inflict 77.5 damage per second equivalent to 179 -270 Damage. It is good to know that this WoW item shall be converted into Grand Marshal’s Repeater if you transfer to the Alliance side. It is sold for 6 Gold, 11 Silver, and 21 Bronze by Stone Guard Zarg  at Orgrimmar. High Warlord’s Crossbow is the same model as High Warlord’s Heavy Crossbow.

Brutal Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow

The name of this WoW item is just about right for what it is capable of doing and what it looks like. One glance at this weapon and one can surely tell that it is brutal and mean. The Brutal Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow is a product of patch 2.4.2. It is a level 154 item that needs players to reach the 70th level or higher before it will bind. When picked up, it will automatically increase the character’s stamina by a whopping 27 points and once it is equipped, it will increase the critical strike rating by 17 or 0.77%, resilience rating by 13 or 1.04%, and ranged attack power by 38 points. Aside from those technical details, the Brutal Gladiator’s Crossbow also has one of the strongest striking abilities with speed averaging at 3.00. This WoW item can induce as much as 140.4 damage per second to targets or from 336 to 506 Damage. Its durability is also at par with the strongest weapons in World of Warcraft. It is sold for 11 Gold, 75 Silver, and 39 Bronze by 5 characters; these are:

  1. Blazzek the Biter at Tanaris
  2. Grex Brainboiler at Netherstorm
  3. Lieutenant Jackspring at Stormwind City
  4. Stone Guard Zarg at Orgrimmar
  5. Trapjaw Rix at Dalaran

Deadly Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow

Deadly Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow is sadly no longer available to game players today. However, when it was still available it was a very powerful weapon. Added in patch 3.0.2, the Deadly Gladiator’s Crossbow was one of the more powerful WoW weapons back in the day. It is a level 213 item that will bind to level 80 characters immediately after it is picked up and will then increase its stamina by 48 points. Once it is equipped, it will enhance the critical strike rating of the character by 21 or 0.46%, resilience rating by 20 or 0.77%, and attack power by 62. It speed is averaging at 3.00 and it can do 203.7 damage per second (488 to 734 Damage) which is very grave if you are the target. However, its durability is not the best but it still will do for most fights. It is sold for 15 Gold, 14 Silver, and 66 Bronze. The Deadly Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow is similar to these three models:

  1. Furious Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow (level 232 item, level 80 players)
  2. Furious Gladiator’s Repeater (level 239 item, level 80 players)
  3. Hateful Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow (level 200 item, level 80 players)

Legionkiller

Legionkiller is probably one of the scariest looking crossbows in World of Warcraft. This huge crossbow was added to the game realm via patch 2.1.0 and was since scaring most players away. It is a level 141 WoW item that will need level 70 players. It binds when picked up and will give the player a boost in his stamina by 30 and agility by 21. Its speed is 2.90 and it can give 264 to 493 Damage or 130.5 damage per second to targets. The durability of the Legionkiller is also quite good and is a step below the most durable weapons in World of Warcraft. This ranged WoW item is sold for 10 Gold, 82 Silver, and 66 Bronze and was also dropped by one character in the game: Supremus at the Black Temple. Furthermore, the Legionkiller is also similar to Vengeful Gladiator’s Heavy Crossbow.

Drake-Mounted Crossbow

Now this WoW item is something to be awed. It looks very crystal-like and brittle but it is far from being brittle. This patch 3.0.1 product is a level 200 WoW item that has a not-so scary name but has power to be scared of. It requires level 80 characters and will bind when picked up. In this event, the Drake-Mounted Crossbow will automatically increase the agility of the character by 29 and when equipped, it enhances the critical strike rating of the character by 26 or 0.57%. Its speed is 2.80 which is regular for crossbows. Drake-Mounted Crossbow can inflict 186.6 damage per second or from 418 to 628 total health damage to its target. This WoW item also has a high durability rating. It is sold for 14 Gold, 25 Silver, and 94 Bronze and was dropped by Ingvar the Plunderer in Heroic mode at Utgarde Keep.
