World of Warcraft Weapons Guide: Daggers – Part 1
What exactly is a dagger? A dagger in World of Warcraft is very similar to a real life dagger. It is characterized by a shot and narrow blade that is attached to a hilt (handle). The blade could be edged on a primary side or it could also be curved. In order to inflict damage to your target, you must have excellent timing skills as you need to slash or stab your target quickly and effectively.
Daggers are melee weapons in World of Warcraft and many players prefer to use them as they can easily be concealed than, say, an axe. The weapons in this category are often used by rogues and other healing classes. Sometimes, the dagger must be held in both hands or in the main hand when it is specifically required by a rogue skill. In addition to those character types, daggers are also being utilized by mages and priests. Almost all classes can use daggers and almost all can be trained to use them except for Death Knights and Paladins.
In this article, you will know the technical specifications and other beneficial things that each dagger can give to a character in World of Warcraft. Here, we shall start the exploration of World of Warcraft DAGGERS.
The Infinity blade is available for use as a reagent for players in level 70 or higher. When it is bound and equipped to a character, it will improve the critical strike rating by 1.1%, the stamina by 35 and the attack power by a whopping 70. The Infinity Blade is rated to have a mediocre speed rating of 2.00. However, to make up for the speed, this dagger can inflict 171-318 damage to opponent or 122.2 damage per second. Furthermore, the Infinity Blade will bestow upon the character the power to increase the magical damage taken by the unlucky victim by as much as 5%. The Infinity Blade also has the special power to dispel Prince Kael’tha’s Mind Control when there is a melee ability that lands. Plus, you can do all those damage for about 30 seconds and you can repeat it 5 times.
Alcor’s Sunrazor is built for level 58 players and higher. When picked up, it binds to the character and immediately improves its Fire Resistance by 10. Truth be told, Alcor’s Sunrazo is quite a weak dagger and players should choose other daggers if there are any available. This is because this dagger has a speed rating of 1.30 and could only do as much as 45.4 damage per second or 41-77 total damage inflicted to targets. When you strike in the right time, you could blast a target and induce 75-105 Fire damage.
This dagger is for players in the level 60 and higher. To put it bluntly, Black Amnesty is nothing special even for a dagger. Why? Well, it does not provide additional benefits to the character nor does it have very powerful attacks. In fact, the Black Amnesty has a speed rating of 1.60 and could only induce 53-100 damage to targets or 47.8 damage per second. To appease your worries, Black Amnesty has the ability to reduce the threat of your current target attacking you again so you can relax for a little more time.
Blade of Eternal Darkness
The Blade of Eternal Darkness will bind to the main hand slot of the characters of level 49 players. When equipped, this dagger has the capability of inflict 100 Shadow damage to opponents and restore 100 of your mana at the same time. Aside from those, the Blade of Eternal Darkness offers nothing special. It has a speed rating of 1.50 and can damage opponents from 33-69 or 34.3 damage per second.
Blade of the Unrequited
Level 70 players can use the Blade of the Unrequited for most combats. When picked up, it binds to the character and increases its stamina by 13, attack power by 18 and its critical strike rating by 0.4%. Furthermore, the Blade of the Unrequited has slots for red socket, yellow socket and blue socket. It has a speed rating of 1.60 and can inflict between 112-168 damage to targets or 87.5 damage per second.
Blessed Qiraji Pugio
This level 60 dagger is quite good. The Blessed Qiraji Pugio binds to the character that picks it up and in doing so, the dagger improves some qualities of the character. The Blessed Qiraji Pugio improves the stamina of characters by 7, critical strike rating by 0.6%, hit rating by 0.6% and attack power by 18. This dagger is rated to have 1.70 speed and can bestow between 72 to 134 damage to targets or 60.6 damage per second.
Boundless Agony is a level 70 dagger that binds to the character when it is picked up. Equipping this to the character will improve the latter’s critical strike rating by 1.1%. Furthermore, Boundless Agony will make your attacks ignore 210 of your target’s armor; thus, you can penetrate your target deeper than a regular dagger attack. With a speed rating of 1.80, this dagger weapon can inflict 144 to 217 damage to your opponent. Also, Boundless Agony can induce as much as 100.3 damage per second to its unlucky victim.
Claw of Chromaggus
The Claw of Chromaggus is a level 60 dagger that binds to the main hand of the character that picks it up. When equipped, this dagger will improve the stamina by 7 and intellect by 17. The Claw of Chromaggus also has the power to increase the damage and healing caused by magical effects and spells by as much as 64 and can restore 4 mana every 5 seconds. It may seem that the Claw of Chromaggus is such an interesting and mighty powerful dagger because of all the mentioned things. However, this dagger is not that powerful. It has a speed rating of 1.50 and could only inflict 37 to 90 damage (42.3 damage per second) to its target.
Core Hound Tooth
This is a dagger built for level 60 players and higher and binds immediately when it is picked up. When equipped to the character, the Core of Hound Tooth improves the critical strike rating by 0.6%, attack power by 20 and stamina by 9. It is not a very durable dagger and it is also not a powerful one. With speed rating of 1.60, the Core Hound Tooth could only inflict as much as 51.2 damage per second or 57-107 total damage to its target. Still, the Core of Hound Tooth is good to have especially if you are in earlier levels.
Dagger of Veiled Shadows
The Dagger of Veiled Shadows is a level 60 weapon that binds immediately to the character that picks it up. Doing so will increase the strength of the character by as much as 7, agility by 15, and hit rating by 0.6%. The Dagger of Veiled Shadows is rated 1.80 in speed and it is written that it can inflict damage from 65 to 121 (51.7 damage per second). Like the Core of Hound Tooth, use this dagger sparingly.
The name of this dagger, Death’s Sting, is not in accordance to the actual performance of the weapon itself. Death’s Sting may sound a deadly name but the weapon is actually not. It is a level 60 dagger that binds when picked up and increases the stamina of the character by 10. When equipped, Death’s Sting will increase the attack power of the character by 38 and its dagger skill rating by 1.8%. It is stated that Death’s Sting can inflict 66.4 damage per second to its target or 95-144 total damage. Death’s Sting is not a very fast weapon as proven by its 1.80 speed rating.
The Dirge binds to the character when it is equipped and is only usable when you are in level 70 or higher. When equipped, it improves the critical strike rating of the character by as much as 0.9% and its attack power by 40. It is not a very durable weapon nor does it have a powerful attack power. In fact, the Dirge has a speed rating of 1.40 and can inflict 81-152 damage to its target which is equivalent to 83.2 damage per second. Though not as powerful as some daggers are, the Dirge is still good to use for most cases.
The Dragonfang Blade is a level 60 dagger that binds when picked up. It does not pack any special characteristic or capability. However, it can improve the agility of the character that it is bound to by as much as 16 and its stamina by 13. It has a speed rating of 1.80 and can inflict damage to its target from 69 to 130 which is similar to inflicting 55.3 damage per second. The Dragonfang Blade is quite a good dagger to use even though it is not that powerful since it is quite durable. Use the Dragonfang Blade sparingly though.
